The site is adjacent to the Taipa Fort, built in 1847. It is an expansion project for Macao Customs Service (Serviços de Alfândega) for new branches and offices. The new building is 11.2 meters high and has three stories. It adopts a concise and low-profile contemporary architectural style, which is different and coordinated with the adjacent old buildings. The architect used architectural techniques and different materials to reduce the building’s volume and echo the heritage buildings.
