Award of Excellence of the Macau Architectural Awards 2018. The new building is the expansion part of the old Departamento de Trânsito do Corpo de Polícia de Segurança Pública building, including two groups of buildings. The project adopts a clean, fashionable, and contemporary design style. The facade is colored in white tones and ornamented by architectural shading elements’ design and the use of materials. The design concept of the shading elements came from the old building parapet’s military elements. The wall along the side of Estrada da Vitória adopts a translucent design to make the space and environment more open. The design concept is to increase the greens and lighting of the new office and create a friendly image of the police department towards the public. The vast open space can also harmonize the environment with the surrounding heritage-style buildings.
